since October 7th, we have witnessed significant transformations in the Israeli entrepreneurship landscape. As CEO of the Natan Fund, I want to share with you the insights we have gained from the field and the vision that guides us.
Today, more than ever, the success of a business is determined by a combination of professionalism and vision. Successful entrepreneurs are those who combine solid professional experience with managerial creativity, especially during times of crisis. They are characterized by determination, persistence, and genuine relationships with their clients – through continuous listening to their needs combined with the ability to adapt to quick changes.
We see clear specialization in several key areas. Coffee carts and food businesses are leading the way, thanks to a relatively simple business model, modest financial investment, and streamlined bureaucracy. We also see that the sports and health sector is growing, including Pilates, as well as the vintage and second-hand fashion market.
A special and inspiring trend is the return to agriculture – a phenomenon driven not only by economic considerations, but by deep ideology and patriotism. New entrepreneurs choose to put down roots in Israeli soil, to hold onto it, to work it in various forms, and with a deep connection to Zionist values. Another field experiencing growth is professional coffee roasting. Beyond the familiar home coffee culture, a sophisticated market is developing for custom roasting, selected varieties, and personal blends that reflect the Israeli love for quality coffee.
During this period, every entrepreneur who chooses to take a loan and establish a business expresses faith in the future. This is a struggle to create something good and meaningful, and I see this as an expression of the special Israeli strength. We are a people who see the future and hope for revival and believe in it. Even in the most difficult days, we continue to build, put down roots, and believe in the love of the land and in Zionist values. This is the optimism that guides us at the Natan Fund, and this is the engine that drives the entrepreneurs we support.
